CHARLOTTETOWN, PEPEI Brewing Company has announced the release of a new beer that pays tribute to a  long-standing tradition in the local lobster fishing industry.

Named for the day that the lobstermen bring in their last haul of the season, Landing Day Lager is a 4% abv all-malt lager that is hopped with two New Zealand varietals – Kohatu during the boil, and then dry-hopped with Motueka. The result is described as having “a big flavour and aroma up front of tropical and piney hop notes,” followed by a “clean and dry” finish.

Landing Day Lager is currently available exclusively on tap at the PEI Brewing tasting room and at Gahan House pub in Charolettetown, although the brewery hopes to start canning it at some point in the future.
