TORONTO, ON – One of Toronto’s most popular charity food events will feature a unique signature beer for this year’s edition, thanks to a recent collaborative brew day between Amsterdam Brewing and Rodney’s Oyster House.
As shown in the video below, folks from Amsterdam and Rodney’s came together at the Amsterdam BrewHouse earlier this month to brew an Oyster Stout, and the result will be tasted for the first time at the 26th annual Ontario Oyster Festival, taking place at Rodney’s (469 King St. W.) this Sunday July 20th.
In celebration of the 45th anniversary of the first moon landing, this year’s event has been subtitled “The Oyster Had Landed!”, and will feature a variety of space-themed dishes including Martian Mussels, Probed Spicy Shrimp, Blue-Moon Burger, Lunar Lobster and Moon Pies, along with plenty of oysters, beer and other beverages.
Admission to the Festival is $32 in advance or $40 at the door (if available), which includes two drink tickets, and one plate of oysters or one hot food item. Additional food and drink tickets will be available at the event – $5 for food, $3.50 for drinks – and all proceeds will be donated to Environmental Defence, Canada’s most effective environmental action charity.
