Bellwoods Brewery Announces Major Expansion Plans

TORONTO, ONBellwoods Brewery has announced plans to open a second and much larger location at the northern edge of Toronto’s Dovercourt Park neighbourhood.

Aiming to open in late 2015 at the corner of Dupont and Dovercourt, the new facility will include a production brewery and barrel-aging room, as well as a small pub/restaurant similar to the original Ossington location, an event space, and offices.

According to the blog post announcing the project, it’s expected that the new brewery will create 10-15 full time jobs and 30 part time jobs, and will greatly increase the output of Bellwoods brands:

[A]s we grow our goals will remain the same, but availability will improve dramatically. Roman Candle, Witchshark, Monogamy, Bounty Hunter, Hellwood and Wizard Wolf (and several more) will be brewed on the big system in larger quantities and Farmageddon, Grandma’s Boy, No Rest For The Wicked and other sour and/or barrel aged products will appear more regularly. This in turn will free up tank space at the brewpub, allowing us to do even more creative and unique bottle-conditioned releases.

More details are available in a post about the expansion on BlogTO, and further information will be announced in coming weeks and months via the Bellwoods website and social media outlets.
