TORONTO, ON – Proving the old adage that “the third time’s the charm,” Bellwoods Brewery has announced details of a new beer that took three tries to get right.
As explained in a blog post announcing it’s upcoming release, two previous attempts to brew the beer that became Gotham Black Imperial IPA were failures – although the second was salvaged by blending it with a batch of Grizzly Beer and releasing it as a limited edition Black IPA back in June.
The final and official version of Gotham – described as having “a bold but balanced bitterness characterized by citrus rind, orange flesh, dark chocolate, and roasted malts” – will be released tomorrow (August 8th) in a limited run of 500 ml bottles that will be available at the Bellwoods retail store while supplies last.
