VICTORIA, BC – The current owners of Victoria’s Moon Under Water Brewpub will be celebrating the 2nd anniversary of their ownership with a party next week, and to make the event extra-special, a unique limited edition beer will be released to mark the occasion.
The party will be taking place all day (11:30 AM to 11:00 PM) on Monday September 1st – the Labour Day holiday – and will feature the debut of Year Two Red Wheat Wine, which is described as follows:
Our second Anniversary Ale was decoction brewed with wheat, barley and oats, then singled hopped with Citra before undergoing a triple fermentation. Initially open-fermented with German Weisen yeast then transferred and inoculated with Belgian yeast and sugar to bring the alcohol up to 11.2% abv. Finally the beer was aged on cherry wood before undergoing re-fermentation in the bottle with Brettanomyces.
