GUELPH, ON – Wellington Brewery has announced plans for the 2014 edition of the Wellington Realist Party, the brewery’s annual customer appreciation party and open house event.
Set to take place on on Saturday September 20th from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM at the brewery (950 Woodlawn Rd. W., Guelph), the family-friendly gathering will feature beer samples, food, and brewery tours. In addition to the regular Wellington line-up, there will be a number of specialty casks being served, some of them exclusive to the event.
Launching at the party will be two new installments in the Welly One-Off series of limited edition beers, both of them variations on Wellington’s flagship Iron Duke strong ale: Put Your Dukes Up!, a 6.5% version aged for several months in Kentucky bourbon barrels; and Duke It Out!, a 7.5% abv version brewed using a Belgian saison yeast strain and aged for a year in wine barrels inoculated with Brettanomyces. Both will be released in limited runs of 750 ml bottles – 1000 bottles for the first beer, 200 for the second – available exclusively at the Wellington retail store.
