TORONTO, ON – A month after Duggan’s Brewery revealed that chef Jamie Kennedy would be serving as Executive Chef at the in-development Duggan’s Brewery Parkdale brewpub, it’s now being reported that Kennedy has decided to step away from the project.
In a post on the Toronto Life website earlier today, Kennedy’s communications manager Joanna Dickins says that the original announcement took place “while Jamie was still weighing his decision,” and that while he was “excited about the prospect, after careful consideration (and before signing the formal agreement) he decided it wasn’t a good fit for him and his company.”
It’s unknown what impact – if any – this will have on the date of permanent opening for the brewpub. In the meantime, a series of “pop-up” nights featuring food by guest chefs and food trucks have been occurring periodically while construction continues.
