SOUTH RIVER, ON – Thanks to the support of a Federal Government program that invests in business development and growth in Northern Ontario, Highlander Brew Co. has revealed plans to move into a new and larger brewing facility.
Tony Clement, MP for Parry Sound-Muskoka, announced last Friday that the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor) would be providing a grant of $727,875 to construct an 8,500 square foot public building in South River. The new building will house an expanded brewing facility for Highlander, allowing the brewery to double its production, as well as space for municipal services, community storefront areas, and common space for tourism-related activities.
A timeline for the construction and move has yet to be announced.
