KAILUA KONA, HI – Kona Brewing, Hawaii’s oldest and largest craft brewery, has announced that several of its flagship beers will soon be available in Western Canada.
Working in partnership with beer import and distribution company Beerthirst, Kona will be launching three of its core brands – Big Wave Golden Ale, Fire Rock Pale Ale and Castaway IPA – in British Columbia and Alberta.
The official Canadian debut for the brewery will take place at the Hopscotch Festival in Vancouver on November 21st and 22nd. Bottles will be available at select retail locations in both provinces as of December 1st, with draught to follow in January.
Kona is a member brewery of the Craft Brew Alliance, a company partly owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev that also encompasses Redhook Brewery in Seattle and Widmer Brothers Brewery in Portland, Oregon. This partnership allows Kona brands to be brewed at those Pacific Northwest locations for distribution to the mainland United States, and now to B.C. and Alberta as well.
