BAYSVILLE, ON – Lake of Bays Brewing has announced that the fifth beer in the NHL Alumni Signature Series will soon be available, and after four “Masked Men” installments dedicated to several of the finest goaltenders in the League’s history, the next four seasonal releases will fall under the new banner of “True Grit”, paying tribute to a quartet of former players known for their aggressive and dedicated approach to the game.
Kicking off the new sub-series is Crazy Eyes Winter Bock Lager, named after the nickname of Darcy Tucker, a player best known for his years with the Toronto Maple Leafs where he contributed to several playoff runs in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The 8% abv and 24 IBU beer is described as follows:
Big, rich, dark and creamy, Winter Bock was originally brewed to sustain fasting Bavarian monks. Pours a deep chocolate hue with gentle ruby tones, crested with soft tan foam. The nose is dark chocolate, with a hint of molasses, wood smoke and vanilla. A full-bodied, smooth-sipping extravaganza greets the palate, with a burst of silky cocoa and tiramisu, balanced by hints of toast, peppery spice, and dried fruit. The finish is long and warming, with chocolate tones tailing off into earthier notes like roasted coffee.
Crazy Eyes Winter Bock Lager is limited to 12,200 bottles and will be available soon at LCBO outlets in Ontario, the Lake of Bays retail store in Baysville, Sobey’s Liquor stores in Alberta, and to subscribers of the Lake of Bays Signature Series Club mail order service. Proceeds will benefit the NHL Alumni Association, an organization that serves as a “passionate advocate for greater quality of life benefits for all former NHL players.”
