CALGARY, AB – The always busy Big Rock Brewery has announced the release of a trio of Barrel Aged Edition Ales for the holiday season.
Said to be the first barrel aged beers to come from the veteran brewery, the three strong ales have been aged in different barrels – Bourbon, Sherry and Cognac – and are briefly described as follows:
Bourbon (11% abv) – A rich, full-bodied beer featuring layers of bourbon and caramel, with an oakiness to the brew and a nice alcohol warmth.
Sherry (8.25% abv) – The warmth of the sherry barrels present in the flavour. This beer is malty with a subtle dryness from the sherry.
Cognac (10.6% abv) – Cognac is King! It’s all about the oakiness of the barrels and the complex flavours from the cognac.
The Big Rock Barrel Aged Edition Ales are out now in a limited run of 2600 three-bottle gift packs, available at select locations in Alberta while supplies last.
