TORONTO, ON – Beer Academy has announced the launch of its latest seasonal beer, and likely the last one for 2014.
Beer Academy Holiday Dubbel is a 7.55% abv Belgian-style strong ale brewed with Abbey ale yeast, candi sugar and spices including cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. The result is described as follows:
Holiday Dubbel shines with the aroma and flavours of the season. It’s body is deep mahogany in colour with bronzed tints and a khaki coloured foam. The nose sparkles with figs, plums, cinnamon and cocoa suggesting a touch of cherry and fruitcake. The first sips are fruit forward with raspberry jam, apricots, dates and raisins. A gentle edge of spice shows itself, but then opens up as the beer warms. Then, cinnamon and nutmeg evolve, along with classically Belgian yeast sensations of bubblegum and dark fruit. The finish its medium sweet and very smooth.
Beer Academy Holiday Dubbel will be released tomorrow (Friday December 5th) on draught and in a limited run of 280 wax-dipped bottles available exclusively at the Beer Academy tasting room and retail store while supplies last.
