TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has announced that the first barrel-aged beer released by the brewery back in 2012 will be returning today (December 17th) in a new and improved iteration.
Grandma’s Boy is an 11% abv Belgian-style Tripel that has been barrel-aged with yellow plums. And while the original version spent three months aging, the new version is “a blend of 1 and 2 year aged barrels that were dosed with yellow plums 3-4 months prior to blending.”
The result is described as follows:
With bold aromatics of juicy apricot, plum, and brett funk that gives way to a subtle tartness characterized by fresh fruit and oak — G Boy is the gift you should give yourself this December, because gosh darnit, you’re worth it.
Bellwoods Grandma’s Boy 2014 will be released today at 11:00 AM at the Bellwoods retail store. It will be limited to 1704 x 500 ml bottles, with a price tag of $13 per bottle.
