COXHEATH, NS – CBC News Nova Scotia and the Cape Breton Post report that a new small brewery is being prepped to open soon near Sydney on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia.
Breton Brewing is being founded by Bryan MacDonald and Andrew Morrow, two award-winning homebrewers who have been working on plans for the brewery for nearly two years.
Located in a 5000 square-foot facility on Keltic Drive in the small community of Coxheath, Breton Brewing will feature a brewhouse, tasting area, and retail store selling growlers. Details of what beers will be available at opening are still to be confirmed, but the Post notes that Morrow has “an enjoyment of darker brews, stouts and porters,” with MacDonald is “partial to an India Pale Ale and is a big fan of Belgian and German products.”
