FERGUS, ON – Gilbertson & Page (G&P), one of Canada’s best known suppliers of malt and other ingredients to the craft brewing industry, has announced that it has been acquired by Brewers Supply Group (BSG), an American company that offers a similar variety of products and services to U.S. breweries.
According to the statement announcing the deal, G&P will become known as BSG Canada, and will “steadily expand product offerings to Canadian brewers while leveraging the full resources of BSG.” G&P’s three distribution centres in Fergus, Ontario; Huntingdon, Quebec; and Delta, British Columbia will remain in operation, and the rebranded company will “continue (the) already stellar service and reputation established by G&P, to create a stronger, more versatile and robust one-stop shop for Canadian brewers.”
The statement goes on to note that “BSG Canada has a simple mission – to provide Canadian brewers with the very best ingredients and customer service. The leadership and staff of both G&P and BSG are excited and energized about BSG Canada, believing that the future is very bright for craft beer in Canada.”
Will I still be able to purchase their wares through Country Malt Group? Somehow I doubt it. I hope I’m wrong.
