SAINT JOHN, NB – Moosehead Breweries has announced that after being available for almost three decades, its Alpine Light brand is being retired due to its being delisted by the ANBL.
As explained in a lengthy post on the Moosehead Beer Academy website, Alpine Light has been available in a single format – 12-packs of bottles – at the ANBL for many years, but due to its sales being low when compared to other beers in the “Domestic Mainstream Light” segment, the agency has decided to stop carrying it. And since the government-owned chain is the only beer retailer in New Brunswick, this has led to Moosehead killing off the brand.
Alpine Light will remain available at ANBL locations while current stock lasts, after which it will be gone for good.
