VANKLEEK HILL, ON – Beau’s All Natural Brewing has announced details of the next release from B-Side Brewing, an imprint described as a “record label for beer” that features unique creations from “international craft brewer ‘artists’ of renown.”
La Formidable was created by Van Havig and Ben Love of Gigantic Brewing, a multiple award winning brewery in Portland, Oregon. It’s described as follows:
La Formidable is a 6.9% American-Belgo IPA; a relatively new hybrid beer style that crosses bold, citrusy American-style hop aromas with the signature fruity, spicy and earthy elements of Belgian yeast. The hazy golden ale exudes appetizing aromas of grapefruit and orange, along with light piney notes and white pepper. The flavour offers a firm but balanced bitterness that is complemented by citrus fruitiness. The finish is spicy with earthy undertones.
La Formidable will be released this Thursday February 26th as the finale to the 2015 edition of FeBREWary, a month of beer launches and events from Beau’s. It will be available at the brewery retail store and BYBO delivery service, and on tap at more than 150 participating bars and pubs across Ontario, with year-round distribution at the LCBO to follow in mid-March.
Havig and Love will be visiting Ontario this week to appear at several events celebrating La Formidable’s release, including Thursday at Bar Volo in Toronto from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday at The Black Tomato in Ottawa from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and at the Beau’s Brewery in Vankleek Hill on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
