OTTAWA, ON – Clocktower Brew Pub has announced the release of a new beer created in collaboration with local coffee roasters Equator Coffee, although it’s not a style typically made with coffee.
As noted in the announcement, rather than making a “dark porter or stout” the brewery infused a light amber ale with Equator’s Freakin’ Good Coffee, and named the result Freakin’ Good Beer.
With a recipe that also includes oats, rye, flaked barley, malted barley, and honey from Rideau Pines Farms, Freakin’ Good Beer is a 5.3% abv ale described as having a smooth body and being “very aromatic without the bitterness of black coffee.”
Clocktower/Equator Freakin’ Good Beer is available now on tap at all Clocktower locations, and in 650 ml bombers in the retail store at the Glebe location of the chain.
