CALGARY, AB & SQUAMISH, BC – Village Brewery in Calgary and Howe Sound Brewing in Squamish have announced details of a unique wager that will have one brewery sending their brewer to the other based on the results of the Calgary Flames vs. Vancouver Canucks playoff series that kicks off tonight in Vancouver.
From the press release:
“If the Flames lose, which is likely, the fine folks at Village will be sending their brewer and loyal Canuck fan Jeremy McLaughlin out to our brewery to brew for a week, along with a few of their fine beer for our victory celebrations. He may not return,” said Dave Fenn, co-owner of Howe Sound.
“Like Village, the Flames are a newly built team that cares about winning for the city,” says Jim Button, partner of Village Brewery. “And when they do, Howe Sound will be shipping their brewer Franco Corno express delivery to Calgary. He’ll be in a Flames shirt brewing and helping around the community; and of course bearing gifts from BC.”
The results of the series – and the bet – will be known sometime between April 21st and 27th, depending on how many games the series runs.
