VICTORIA, BC – Phillips Brewing has been named Green Company of the Year 2015 by Drinks Business magazine, the first brewery in the history of the awards to receive this prestigious international recognition.
As mentioned in the Drinks Business announcement of the award, the judges took notice of the brewery’s “deep-rooted environmentally friendly approach,” and its “impressive waste reduction programme,” calling its custom designed CO₂ reclamation system “a pioneering example for smaller breweries.”
“We’re honoured to be recognized with this award,” said Phillips owner Matt Phillips in a statement. “Attention to detail, innovation, creativity, local ingredients, and commitment to quality are all parallels between how we approach our beer and how we approach the environment. One really informs the other and that’s a perspective shared by many of our craft brewing brethren.”
