CALGARY, AB – Big Rock Brewery has announced the release of a variation on one of its flagship brands as the latest installment in the Brewmaster’s Edition series of limited edition beers.
Big Rock Hefehöpper is an unfiltered version Grasshöpper, the brewery’s popular filtered wheat ale. A traditional 5% abv hefeweizen, Hefehöpper is described as follows:
Here’s a sophisticated unfiltered ale our Brewmaster loves the challenge of crafting. He starts with the finest varieties of wheat from Alberta’s Wheat Belt, then isolates a yeast cell from a favourite hefeweizen to make it his own. We’ll spare you all the fascinating chemistry before and after but what you get in your pint is worth his effort. A complex ale, bready and citrusy with hints of banana and notes of vanilla and cloves that pours an opaque golden yellow.
