Some would argue that the number of events taking place at bars and breweries in Montreal during Mondial de la Bière each June has turned that festival into a de facto “beer week” for the city, but La Biere Week is the first event to officially take on the mantle of “Montreal Beer Week”. The website lists participating venues and the specials & events they’re offering, and any updates will be posted on Facebook or Twitter.

GREAT OKANAGAN BEER FESTIVAL
Waterfront Park – Kelowna, BC
Building on the success of the Whistler Village Beer Festival, organizers Gibbons Festival & Events are heading a bit further west and presenting the first annual edition of this off-shoot event in Kelowna. The ambitious launch has participation from more than 40 breweries ranging from local producers to favourites from across Canada and the US. The Festival also features food vendors, brewery highlight sessions, and spin-off events at local bars and restaurants.

NORTH AMERICAN CRAFT BEER EXPERIENCE

Presented by Drink Inc., the organizers of a number of beer, wine and spirit tasting events in Toronto, this mini-festival is focused specifically on the breweries represented by beer import and promotional agency North American Craft. Expect to find products from Smuttynose, Arch, Dead Frog, Bards Beer, Propeller, Parallel 49, Double Trouble and Wellington, including a number of rare and one-off brands.

NOVA SCOTIA CRAFT BEER WEEK

The first large scale event to be presented by the Craft Brewers Association of Nova Scotia, this celebration of Nova Scotia’s rapidly-growing craft brewing culture will feature events throughout the province including brewery tours and tastings, beer pairing dinners, a Brews Cruise on Tall Ship Silva, the Full House Craft Beer Festival, and much more.

BREWERS PLATE TORONTO

An annual charity event that brings together some of Ontario’s top chefs and craft brewers in a celebration of local and sustainable food and drink, this year’s Brewers Plate will have more than 20 breweries on hand pouring their beer in support of Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation, and will feature a rock’n’roll theme, with attendees encouraged to wear their favourite concert or band t-shirt.
