ST. THOMAS, ONRailway City Brewing has announced details of its next seasonal release, which will also be the feature beer at this year’s Oxford Renaissance Festival.

Flagon Slayer Gruit is a 5.3% abv herb ale created in collaboration with Wildflowers Tea and described as follows:

Our Gruit pours a translucent golden straw colour. On the nose it features a “flowery” aroma, specific flowers mentioned being lavender, marigold, and roses. Similarly there is a spicy, pot-pourri secondary note being identified as pumpkin pie, pepper, and juniper. Tart, with bitter orange and some lemony characteristic, very close to ginger. Slight hints of rosemary and oregano are identified, likely from the juniper. Many people identify berries. Bitterness is extremely mild and overall finish is fast.

Flagon Slayer will be debuted at this month’s Railway City Thursday Night Sessions event, taking place at the brewery on May 28th starting at 7:00 PM. The $5 admission includes samples of the new beer and several other Railway City brands, and spots can be reserved by emailing info@railwaycitybrewing.com, calling 519-631-1881, or sending a direct message via Facebook or Twitter.

Following the release event, Flagon Slayer will be available in 650 ml bottles at the Railway City brewery store, and will be served at the Oxford Renaissance Festival taking place June 26th to 28th at the Woodstock Fairgrounds.
