PENTICTON, BC – Cannery Brewing has announced details of the second annual edition of the summer seasonal brand Skaha Summer Ale.
Named after Skaha Lake and Skaha Bluffs, popular summer recreation spots in the Penticton area, Skaha Summer Ale is a 5% abv pale ale that head brewer Ross Thompson describes as follows:
Skaha Summer Ale is a refreshing, thirst quenching blonde ale, perfect for a hot summer day. Although it is light and summery, it’s also well balanced, flavourful and complex, making this a sought-after summer seasonal for craft beer drinkers and those new to the world of small-batch, hand-crafted micro-brewed beers.
As noted at the time of last year’s inaugural release, each annual edition of Skaha will be made using different hops. This year’s version features Azacca and El Dorado hops which Thompson describe as being “very tropical in nature,” resulting in a beer that is “soft and delicate with mango and citrus tones and a crisp, dry and refreshing finish.”
Cannery Skaha Summer Ale is available now in 650 ml bottles at liquor stores throughout BC and Alberta, on tap at select restaurants and bars, and growler fills at the Cannery retail store. It will also be featured in the upcoming summer edition of the Cannery Collection sampler six-pack.
