RICHMOND, BC – Richmond News reports that a legal dispute led to the sudden closure of Big River Brew Pub last week, only to be quickly followed by its reopening just a few days later.
According to the initial story, the landlord of the brewpub and its adjacent joint business The Zone Bowling Centre received a court order to have both businesses shuttered due to lease disagreements and ongoing issues with late and missed rent payments. The order went into effect last Friday (July 24th), and a sheriff’s notice was posted indicating that the landlord had taken possession of the property.
However, a follow-up article reports that an agreement has been reached between the two parties, and both venues were reopened yesterday (July 28th).
Terms of the new agreement have not been released.
