HAMILTON, ON – Garden Brewers has announced details of the next beer to be released in its Now In Bloom! series of limited edition small-run beers – aka “beers that are made maybe once, maybe every-so-often, but not regularly, and never hang around for very long.”
Bière de Garde’n is an 8.3% abv bière de garde brewed using corn, malted oats and wheat, and a variety of specialty malts; fermented with both lager and saison yeasts; and hopped with French Strisselspalt hops. The result is described as being “toasty, bready, and complexly grainy, rich and warming, but stopping short of being hot, and really charmingly walking a line between clean lager character and spicy saison complexity.”
Only 9 kegs of Bière de Garde’n have been produced, with two allocated to be served at Toronto’s Lansdowne Brewery; two for the annual WVRST Craft Invitational event taking place at WVRST in September; one for an upcoming tap takeover event in conjunction with Clifford Brewing; and two set aside to cellar until next summer. The remaining four kegs are expected to be available soon at select craft beer bars in Hamilton.
