CARLETON PLACE, ON – The Capital Pint column on the Ottawa Magazine website reports a much-admired but short-lived nano-brewery that closed late last year will soon be revived under a new name and in a new location.
Stalwart Brewing has been founded by several servers at the Wellington Gastropub who previously brewed out of the restaurant’s kitchen under the name Stockpot Ales.
Now set up in their own facility at 10 High St. in Carleton Place, the partners will be brewing on a 7 barrel system and launching with revived versions of three Stockpot favourites: Big PAPA (a peach and apricot pale ale), Bad Moon Rye’s In (a rye stout) and Dr. Feelgood (a “lemony, creamy and dry” IPA).
While an exact opening date has yet to be confirmed, the co-owners are aiming to have beer flowing by late October or early November. For more details, see the Stalwart Brewing Facebook page and Twitter feed.
