POWELL RIVER, BC – Townsite Brewing has announced the return of Shiny Penny Belgian IPA as its latest seasonal release.
Named after a proposed brewery and gastropub that brewer Cédric Dauchot and his wife and brewery manager Chloe Smith had planned to open in Saskatoon before they headed west to join the Townsite team, Shiny Penny is a 8.5% abv and 80 IBU ale that has been tweaked a bit for its latest appearance:
Last spring Cédric attended the American Craft Brewers Conference in Portland Oregon and learned a thing or two about IPAs. “Being from Belgium where IPAs are just now making headway, they have always been a work in progress for me,” admits Cédric. “So I attended all the forums on everything IPA while in Oregon and now I have a few new tricks up my sleeve.” Dryer, hoppier and even more delicious than previously thought possible, this year’s version will knock your socks off.
Shiny Penny Belgian IPA is available now in 650 ml bottles at the Townsite brewery store and select liquor stores in BC.
