GRAVENHURST, ON – The folks at Sawdust City Brewing are apparently big fans of the Back to the Future film series, so in honour of this Wednesday October 21st being “Back to the Future Day” – aka the day that Marty McFly and Doc Brown arrive in the future in the first movie – they’ve announced the return of a limited edition beer that was originally inspired by the films.
Twin Pines IIPA is a “massively hopped double IPA loaded with tropical hop aromas and flavours.” Sitting at 8.8% abv, Twin Pines is a bigger sibling to the brewery’s year-round Lone Pine IPA, with both names referencing a shopping mall that is a key location in the movie.
To mark the return of the beer, Sawdust City will be holding a BTTF-themed release party on Wednesday at the brewery tasting room and store, with all three films being shown on a loop, and pints and cans of the beer being available. Launch events will also take place at Indie Ale House and Bar Hop in Toronto, and Pub Milos in London.
