HALIFAX, NS – Halifax pub and restaurant The Auction House will soon be serving house-fermented beer thanks to the recent installation of a SmartBrew system.
As reported by the Maritime Beer Report, the beer produced from the system – in which staff add yeast and hops (and other flavourings, if desired) to pre-made custom worts – will be served at the pub under the name George’s Island Brewing.
The first George’s Island beers – an amber ale and a dunkelweizen – are expected to be on tap as early as this week.
