FERNIE, BC – Fernie Brewing has announced a competition to find a new name for one of its most popular core brands.
Ol’ Willy Wit is a Belgian witbier that has been part of the Fernie line-up since 2007. The brewery is looking for a new name which “matches the light & spicy citrus flavours of this refreshing beer,” noting also that it “needs to be suitable for a year-round brew, be able to be well illustrated on the label, and stand out from the crowd”.
Entries will be accepted until February 4th, and the selected name will be announced February 8th, with the winner receiving a $250 Fernie gift certificate, a night’s accommodation for two in Fernie, and the chance to visit the brewery to brew batch of the newly-named beer.
