CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – PEI Brewing has announced release details for the second edition of a barrel-aged stout that has been bumped up in strength this time around.
The original version of Ice Boat Barrel-Aged Stout released in December 2014 was a 5.3% abv beer based on Gahan Sydney Street Stout that was aged for three months in Jack Daniels whiskey barrels.
For this year’s edition, a new recipe was used that pushed the beer up to 8% abv. The result will be released once again in a limited run of wax-dipped 750 ml bottles, with the first ones to be put on sale at the PEI Brewing taproom and retail store on Tuesday February 23rd.
