NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ON – Ben’s Beer Blog reports that a scholarship fund has been established to honour a graduate of the Niagara College Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management Program who passed away last year.
2014 graduate Matt Soos died a few months after starting work at Muskoka Brewery, and fundraising there as well as at Railway City Brewing where Soos worked for several summers resulted in a donation of $31,800 to the College to set up the Matt Soos Project Brew Memorial Fund.
This seed money, along with an additional $1500 added by Niagara College each year, will be used to award $4500 to the student who brews the best beer in the Niagara College Annual Brewmaster Competition each August.
