ST. THOMAS, ON – Railway City Brewing has announced details of its 5th annual Platform Homebrew Competition, as well as changes to the packaging format used for most of its brands.
Running to coincide with National Home Brew Day, an annual event that falls on the first Saturday of May each year, the competition invites home brewers to submit their beer of any style to be considered for a prize. Entries must be submitted to Railway City by Saturday April 30th, when all submissions will be judged using BJCP guidelines.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top placing beers, and the 1st place winner will also be invited to brew a full batch of their beer together with Railway City’s brewers, with the result to be released in July under the Platform 16 label. More details on the competition including an entry form can be found now on the Railway City website.
The brewery has also announced that it will be moving its main brand line-up from 500 ml to 355 ml bottles, available in single units, 6 packs, 24 packs, and variety packs at the Railway City retail store. Select brands will continue to be available in 473 ml cans at LCBO and Beer Store locations, and 650 ml and 750 ml bottles will continue to be used for some limited edition and seasonal brands.
