SURREY, BC – Central City Brewers + Distillers has announced that one of its core Red Racer brands is about to be relaunched with a new recipe, modified look, and slightly different name.
Red Racer PILS – previously known as Red Racer Pilsner – is a 5% abv and 25 IBU golden lager is described as follows:
The new Red Racer PILS features a lighter, more sessionable, balanced body that can be appreciated by beer drinkers of all types. It is brewed in the classic Bavarian tradition, using only the finest two-row barley and hops from the Hallertau region of Germany. This light and golden Pilsner has a distinct hop aroma and flavour with a dry, crisp finish.
The reformulated and rebranded brew will be officially launched on Sunday March 20th from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Lamplighter Public House in Vancouver, with a free admission event featuring games and prize giveaways.
Red Racer PILS will be available later this month in 355 ml cans at liquor retailers in British Columbia and Alberta.
UPDATE: The original announcement from Central City indicated that Red Racer PILS would be available in Ontario, but the brewery has since confirmed that this information was incorrect. The article has been edited accordingly.
