WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Free Press reports that the city’s first brewpub in nearly two decades will be opening soon, although the start of on-site brewing is still a few weeks away.
Founded by former Half Pints Brewing co-owner Nicole Barry, PEG Beer Co. will be soft opening its 130 seat bar and restaurant this week, while final work is being done on the brewing equipment to allow brewing to start later this spring.
Chef Aron Epp has developed a food menu focused on flatbreads and sharing plates using seasonal ingredients, and the bar will be serving craft beer from other breweries while waiting for the house beers to start flowing.
