TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has revealed some early details about the 2016 edition of its annual Motley Cru anniversary beer, with the key news being that it will be coming out a bit later than usual this year.
Usually released each April with an event that draws long line-ups for the bottle shop and bar, this year’s 4th annual version will be delayed slightly due to travel plans related to the brewery’s upcoming expansion, and will be launched on Saturday May 14th.
Still unannounced at this point is the style or other details of the beer itself, although the italicized words in this excerpt from the Bellwoods blog post about the release may provide some clues:
“We’ll be unleashing into the wild a beer that, as you could probably guess, has been in the works for quite some time. And while the grapevine might be buzzing with talk of what you can expect, all we’ll say for now is that we didn’t abide by German purity laws.”
More details are expected to be announced closer to the release date.
