PENTICTON, BC – Bad Tattoo Brewing has announced that homebrewer Derek Hyde has won a competition among members of the Okanagan Home Brewers Club, and will be co-brewing a beer at the brewery for release this summer.
Hyde, who has previously co-created a beer with Toronto’s Amsterdam Brewery, placed in the top group for all four beer styles included in the competition – India Session Ale, Oktoberfest Lager, Winter Beer and Scottish Ale – with his Oktoberfest Lager being especially praised by the judges.
Head brewer Robert Theroux will be welcoming Hyde to the Bad Tattoo brewhouse on May 21st to brew a 2,000 litre batch of a beer style to be announced. The result will be released as a seasonal brand under the Bad Tattoo label, with a launch party on Canada Day (July 1st).
