OTTAWA, ON – The Ottawa Sun reports that Clocktower Brew Pub is brewing a beer inspired by a classic episode of Star Trek that will make its debut next month during a special event at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.
The Final Frontier will be a Kentucky Common beer brewed using triticale, a hybrid of wheat and rye that is the real-life precursor to the fictional grain quadrotriticale eaten by the titular creatures from 1967’s “The Trouble With Tribbles”.
The beer will be served for the first time on May 12th at the Starfleet Gala, a kick-off event for Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience, an exhibition that will be running at the museum from May 13th until the end of September. The sold out evening will feature host William Shatner and appearances by other Star Trek actors including René Auberjonois (“Odo” from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and John de Lancie (“Q” from several Star Trek series).
Following its debut at the Gala, The Final Frontier will be released in cans. Distribution and availability details are expected to be announced closer to the release date.
