SALT SPRING ISLAND, BC – CBC News reports that employees at Saltspring Island Ales have voted to become the first unionized craft brewery workers in British Columbia.
According to the report, three full-time and five part-time staff at the brewery have voted in favour of joining the Brewery Winery & Distillery Workers Union Local 300, which represents workers from the province’s large breweries including Labatt, Molson and its Granville Island subsidiary, Sleeman-owned Okanagan Springs, and Pacific Western.
