VANCOUVER, BC – Bomber Brewing has announced the release of a new beer that commemorates the life of a legendary figure in the local brewing scene.
Dan Small opened Dan’s Homebrewing Supplies in 1991, where he supplied ingredients and equipment to Vancouver homebrewers – many of whom are now working in the local brewing industry – up until his death from cancer on July 31st, 2013.
Released to mark the 3rd anniversary of his passing, Dan’s Strathcona Pale Ale is a 5% abv and 30 IBU ale crafted from one of Small’s own recipes. Brewed using East Kent Goldings and Cascade hops, the golden-orange ale is described as having citrus and floral notes, mild hop bitterness, and a dry finish.
Dan’s Strathcona Pale Ale is available now in 650 ml bottles at the Bomber retail store and other select locations. 50 cents from the sale of each bottle will be donated to InspireHealth, an organization that provides supportive care for people with cancer diagnoses.
