HAMILTON, ON – A small but well-regarded contract brewer in Ontario has announced that it is shutting down after just over two years in operation.
In one of his characteristically long and informative blog posts, Victor North of Garden Brewers says that the venture has not been financially viable, forcing him and wife & co-founder Sonja North to halt production. All remaining kegs of beer will be distributed to bars, and the empty kegs then collected and sold off to cover start-up loans.
Victor also notes that he has accepted a job as a brewer at Black Oak Brewing, and he holds out hope that Garden Brewers may return in some form at a later date.
