CHILLIWACK, BC – The Chilliwack Progress reports that Molson Coors Canada has confirmed previously rumoured plans to build a new brewing facility in Chilliwack to replace the Vancouver plant that was sold last year.
The new “high-tech brewery” will be built on a 36 acre site bordered by Kerr Avenue, Vedder Road and the Trans-Canada Highway.
“Chilliwack met all of our requirements to build a new brewery in British Columbia,” said Molson Coors president and CEO Stewart Glendinning in a release. The quality of the water in the city was noted as an especially important factor in the decision.
The new facility is expected to be completed and in production by late 2018 or early 2019.
