TORONTO, ON – Folly Brewpub has announced details of a new beer brewed in honour of The Tragically Hip that will be debuted at a screening of the band’s final concert this weekend.
Courage – named after one of the group’s most popular and iconic songs – is described as follows:
A Saison brewed with rose hips, this beer was designed and planned immediately after the announcement of The Tragically Hip’s last tour, Man Machine Poem. In an effort to keep an Ontario focus with this beer, “Courage” was brewed with Barn Owl malts and yeast from Escarpment Labs.
Courage will go on tap at Folly this Saturday August 20th in conjunction with the CBC broadcast of the Tragically Hip’s concert in Kingston that evening, which will be shown at the big screen at the bar. Admission for the evening is by donation ($20 suggested), with all proceeds going to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at Sunnybrook Hospital.
Courage will remain on tap while quantities last, and will not be brewed again.
