TORONTO, ON – The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has announced that registration is now open for the 5th annual Great Ontario-Hopped Craft Beer Competition (GOHCBC).
Open to commercial breweries and students in their graduating year of an accredited brewmaster course, the competition will challenge brewers to create beers using exclusively hops grown commercially in Ontario.
The beer style chosen for this edition of the competition is Belgian IPA, with entries to be judged based on the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) 2015 guidelines for the style.
Interested participants must register for the competition by October 31st, 2016, and beers must be submitted by February 16th (mail/courier) or 20th (in person), 2017. Judging will take place during the 2017 edition of the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention, taking place February 22nd and 23rd at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
