CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The original Charlottetown location of The Gahan House has announced the 2016 edition of a competition that offers local homebrewers the chance to have one of their recipes brewed as a feature beer for the pub.
Gahan’s 3rd Annual Home Brewer’s Challenge is open to all homebrewers in PEI who work with all-grain recipes (i.e. no extract or brewing kits), and who are invited this year to submit a Winter Warmer style beer. Those interested in entering can register by emailing gahan@murphyrestaurants.ca by September 30th, with the beer due to be delivered to The Gahan House by November 18th.
A panel of judges including Gahan House head brewer Trent Hayes and other beer experts will choose the top beer. The winning homebrewer will receive a cash prize, and will join Hayes to brew a full batch of their beer, which will be offered as a limited edition seasonal at the pub this coming winter.
