TORONTO, ON – It will soon be a year since owners Michelle Genttner & Luís Martins and brewers Christina Coady & Chris Conway rebranded and relaunched Habits Gastropub on Toronto’s College Street as Folly Brewpub, and the milestone will be marked with a party and the release of some special beers.
Taking place on Wednesday October 12th starting at 4:00 PM, the anniversary event will feature the unveiling of Loquacious, a Quadrupel-inspired ale described as follows:
This beer is a 11% ABV, Strong Dark Ale using a bulked up malt bill from Inkhorn, our Farmhouse Bruin. It has spent a year in a Pinot Noir barrel with Brettanomyces Lambicus to develop a fruity, funky, and slightly tart character.
Loquacious will be available in a limited run of bottles in the Folly retail shop, and a keg will be tapped that day as part of an expanded line-up of 12 Folly beers including several rare barrel aged and fermented ales including Invented Tradition (barrel-fermented golden farmhouse ale), Inamorata (barrel aged golden sour), and Third Smile (barrel-fermented buckwheat farmhouse ale).
The evening will also feature the new autumn menu from chef Anthony Santi that “will have some warmer influences and continue with the communal dining theme” that has become one of Folly’s hallmarks.
