VANCOUVER, BC – Strange Fellows Brewing has announced the release of a new limited edition beer inspired by a harvest tradition from an historic hop growing region in Europe.
Hopdevil is a fresh hop ale that takes its name from an effigy burned by farmers in Hoppeland, Belgium each year in hopes that the mythical creature won’t appear in the form of a late summer storm to damage or destroy the crop before harvest.
The 4.5% abv beer is described as follows:
Brewed with fresh Cascade hops from the Maple Bay Hop Farm this beer showcases the cones, using malt character only as a balance to the earthy & fruity hop character. Flavours of honeydew melon & citrus escort this extremely session-able fresh hop beer.
Strange Fellows Hopdevil made its debut at the BC Hop Fest this past weekend, and is available now at the Strange Fellows taproom and store.
