VICTORIA, BC – Phillips Brewing has started making plans for the next edition of its annual Phillips Benefit Brews – one each for BC and Alberta – and as always, the brewery is asking the community to help select a worthy charity to support in each province:
Benefit Brew is an annual project where we create a custom brew for a cause. The beer is named after the charity, given a custom-designed label, and full proceeds are donated (approx. $10,000). Which cause? That’s up to you! We are running both a BC Benefit Brew open to non-profits active in BC, as well as an Alberta Benefit Brew for our friends across the Rockies who do incredible work.
Nominate your favourite charity until October 30th at www.benefitbrew.com. Any federally registered charity can be nominated, but in support of age-related alcohol marketing regulations, children’s charities cannot be accepted. Out of the nominated causes, 10 charities will be selected to participate in a community vote to determine the winner. Although we can only do one brew each charity participating in the vote will also receive a $500 donation.
Following the nomination period, public voting for a winner from the 10 chosen nominees will run from November 7th to 18th. The winning charities will be announced on November 21st, and the custom charity beers will be brewed in January for a February release.
More details including full nomination criteria is available on the Phillips Benefit Brew website.
