Charles Dougall Appointed Ontario’s First Beer Ombudsperson

TORONTO, ONThe Beer Store has announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Charles Dougall as Ontario’s first Beer Ombudsperson.

According to the announcement, the Ombudsperson role “will be responsible for mediating unresolved operational disputes between the Beer Store and its customers or its listed brewers, and promoting fairness and transparency in the Beer Store’s operations.”

Dougall has served as Scotiabank Ombudsperson for the past nine years, and he also sits on the boards of the Canadian Centre for Ethics and Corporate Policy and the Toronto-based food rescue organization Second Harvest. He will start his three-year term with The Beer Store on January 2nd, 2017.
